Interview with Rockstar Energy Suzuki's World MX1 Rider Clement Desalle

Third place in 2009 and runner-up in 2010, Clement Desalle is hoping that his career trajectory continues rising for 2011 when the young Belgian faces his sixth season in the FIM MX1 World Championship and just his second as a works Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1 rider.

The 21 year old signed off an impressive - if at times painful - first campaign on the RM-Z450WS in 2010 with victory at Fermo in Italy for the Championship curtain-closer and will be hoping for two in a row when the '11 series launches at Sevlievo in Bulgaria on April 10th. RJ SAYS: Hidden Supercross Treasures

This 2010 Supercross season has gone exactly as no one expected. Everyone figured it was going to be a battle between the same two supercross 'titans' as last season - James Stewart and Chad Reed. Last year after 17 races they were the top two, with James the champion by four points over Chad.

To everyone's surprise, even their own, both are currently not racing - injured. They are watching what is essentially a 450 Supercross 'rookie' have a phenomenal year so far (Ryan Dungey).

A hidden treasure is not Ryan Dungey doing so well. I felt, as many others did, that he would have a great year. Based on the following: he's done well & won on a 450 before this season, all the confidence he had coming into this season from winning two championships in 2009 (the 250 West Lites Supercross, and the 250 AMA Outdoor Motocross) and his tremendous riding on a 450 for Team USA at the recent Motocross des Nations in Italy in October.

RJ Says: Supercross 2011

Rick Johnson is a seven time AMA Motocross and Supercross Champion. These are his thoughts on the upcoming 2011 AMA / FIM Supercross Series.

Depending on how healthy riders stay during the season, Supercross 2011 could be an incredibly awesome year.

Of course, we all say that every year, but this year could be something special - if most stay healthy.

As I go down a list of riders, my top pick is defending AMA Supercross Champion Ryan Dungey.

Do I think Ryan will dominate Supercross the way he did outdoor MX in 2010? No, but after watching Ryan over the past few years, and especially at the MX of Nations in Italy in 2009, I've seen his confidence go up and up. Each time out, he gets a little faster, a little stronger, and smarter.

Supercross 2011: Kyle Regal discusses move to L & M Racing Yamaha

Moving up from the Lites class to the full time 17 rounds in the premier 450 Supercross class is a big step for any racer. Making it a double whammy, Kyle Regal is also going from Privateer Status to a full Factory Sam Manuel L & M Yamaha ride.

Kyle rode a few 450 Supercross rounds last season, when he wasn?t racing in the Supercross East Coast Lites, but it was this summer Kyle really gained momentum on the 450, finishing ninth in the series final standings.

Welcome to MXGirls.com

MXGirls was created based on the lack of knowledge and news in regards to women's motorsports 7 years ago. Back in 1999' the idea of Women Racers getting web and magazine exposure was extremely rare. I felt we (the MXGirls) needed a home base to come together and MXGirls.com was born. Here at MXGirls.com we like to help promote Pro and Amateur riders from around the world. We admire all levels and ages of riders; we appreciate the will to excel, strength to master, and the passion to win.

MXGirls.com is the homebase for Womens Motocross.

Enjoy and Please spread the word!

MXGirls.com Founder: Michele Johnson "MJ"

Welcome to MXGirls.com and my little part-time hobby since 1999. I am from Trabuco Canyon, California (The O.C, lol) and now I reside in Lake Mathews, California which is anywhere from 5-45 minutes to all top tracks in Southern California. I have been riding bikes my whole life, started on ATV's, Trail 90's, Quads and I've been stuck on 2 wheels for the past 9 years.

I enjoy riding tracks the most, but I definitely head out the Glamis Dunes, Johnson Valley, and Ocotillo Wells to get my desert riding fix a couple times a year.

I race in the Womens Motocross Association several times a year, but now I mostly ride for the love of the sport. I often race local races in the area such as Day in the Dirt, Lake Elsinore Grand Prix, and a handful of the other biggy races.

My favorite part about motocross is the friends I have generated through the year and the most amazing memories to keep me feeling young. I'm a wife of the perfect husband and a mother of a coolest little dude in the world.

For 2006 I'm riding for 3Bros Racing out of Temecula, CA. I have a awesome KTM 250SX which I run my FMF Racing Titanium PowerBomb, which kicked my bike into a super duper high performance level. For gear sponsors I'm running the THOR Racing Gear, Alpinestar Boots, and the THOR/Platinum 1 Painted Helmets.

He narrowed the field down to his two favorite submissions.

That's where you come in. James needs help to decide between his top two design choices, and he wants you to help. Check out his picks here and vote for the one you prefer via text message, and look for James to be rocking the design at the St. Louis Supercross race on April 9.

MX Adventures: Leaving the West Coast ... talking with Kevin Windham

{jvideo id=259 height=378 width=660 autoPlay=0}

Who dat?

This week I caught up with Kevin Windham. In the video below, Kevin Windham talks about the Superbowl Champions, the NFL's New Orleans Saints, his family, his future plans for racing and beyond.

The Superbowl XLIV champions, the New Orleans Saints, have many fans - among them is none other than the number 14 in Supercross, Kevin Windham. While the NFL season started when Supercross was in its off season, Kevin was able to take part in season tickets to his favorite NFL team - da' Saints. Eventually the 2010 Supercross season got underway in January, which meant Kevin was flying off after those Saturday night Main Events back East to watch the New Orleans Saints Playoff games.

On February 7, 2010 the New Orleans Saints headed to the Superbowl in Miami, Florida and Kevin Windham and his wife Dottie made arrangements to attend this momentous occasion. First, however Kevin had to finish up a Supercross race in San Diego the night before.

Fan's Guide to Supercross 2011: Indy

We provide direct links to the things we think you'll find interesting and helpful on Supercross.com, as the 2011 Monster Energy Supercross goes to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana for Round ten of the AMA Supercross Series.

But first, info courtesy Feld Motor Sports:

Another dominating performance last weekend in Daytona by Monster Energy Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto, combined with misfortune by San Manuel Yamaha's James Stewart has led to a 23 point lead for Villopoto.

Last weekend, Stewart looked to be on the way to his fourth win of the season, but suffered a frightening crash while leading. As the former two-time AMA Supercross champion attempted to re-enter the race, Villopoto took advantage, moving into the lead and pulling away for his second straight win and his season-leading fourth victory of the season.

Cole Seely to ride American Honda CRF450 at Indianapolis Supercross

Cole Seely has been given the opportunity to show his skills on the American Honda Racing CRF450R as a fill-in rider for the injured Josh Grant. After testing the bike last week with the American Honda team, Cole was selected to ride.

Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Honda Team manager Tyler Keefe had this to say, "This is a great opportunity for Cole. He's an amazing person who works hard. I think his time on the 450 will elevate his racing knowledge. This is the stuff dreams are made of. Cole deserves this opportunity and the TLD / Lucas Oil / Honda team is behind him 100%. When the series heads back to the West coast and Cole gets back on his TLD / Lucas Oil / Honda CRF 250R, I think his time with American Honda on the 450 will help him generate even more speed that he can carry over into the outdoor nationals."

RJ SAYS: Supercross, on four wheels

It was going to be a good idea. Key word being 'was'. It was going to be a good idea!

My idea was to show you what the truck racing series that I promote and race in is like. It's like Supercross, only on four wheels!

So, my plan was simple - I'd invite my good friend Lex out to the finale of the Traxxis TORC series in Las Vegas, we'd mount a camera on the hood of my race truck, and I'd show you just how rough the racing is. It would be me (a former 2 time AMA Supercross Champion) and Jeremy McGrath (best Supercross rider in history!) showing you supercross - on four wheels!

Here is the grand experiment - camera is mounted on my truck's hood. Ready to go. But not for long!

RJ Says: Defending a Supercross Championship and season review

After watching the first three supercross races of the 2011 season, I'll share with you what I see at this point.

Two riders that have really impressed me so far are Ryan Villopoto and Trey Canard. Looking at their fitness, their riding technique, their ability to get thru traffic on the race track, both are far beyond what I thought they would be.

I knew Ryan would be fast. But when a rider has been away from racing for a while, as he has, sometimes it takes a while to knock off the rust. Ryan has looked great after his heat races - obviously the training with Aldon Baker has helped him a lot. I can see his fitness, how much he is sweating, and his ability to retain his breath and breathing after both his heats and main events. It's visible that Ryan has leaned down together with Aldon, and he's in awesome condition.

I thought it would take Trey Canard at least half a season in the premiere Supercross class to where he was really comfortable. As I watch Trey in these first three races, there are certain section of the different tracks where he is faster than either Villopoto or James Stewart. Once Trey puts together the whole track, and an entire 20 laps like that - look for him to win some races this year.

It was a full day's 'work' for the DC Athletes; group photos, action shots, interviews, and lots of MX riding at Pala. And there was good game of Poker to raise money for Road 2 Recovery. The list of Athletes sponsored by the DC Shoes brand is a very impressive group making this Supercross assignment unique fun for me!

Five Things to Look for at the Indianapolis Supercross

The 2011 Monster Energy Supercross series, an FIM World Championship, heads into Indianapolis this Saturday night. And the chase for the championship is heating up.

Monster Energy Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto took the win at Daytona, extending his 2011 series points lead to 23 over San Manuel Yamaha's James Stewart. Owner/Rider Chad Reed of Two-Two Motorsports has caught fire the last few weeks and is only one point behind Stewart. Reigning Champion Ryan Dungey has yet to win, but continues to keep his Yoshimura powered Rockstar/Makita Suzuki RMZ-450 consistently inside the top five. American Honda's Supercross class rookie sensation Trey Canard had a tough week in Daytona, getting together with Hart and Huntington's Ivan Tedesco and, after charging back through the pack, went down with Brett Metcalfe when the latter cross-rutted and crashed right in front of him. Nevertheless, Trey remains fifth in points.

Here are a few things you should look for when Monster Energy Supercross invades the Midwest:

Big MX season for Red Bull Teka KTM Factory Racing in 2011 World Motocross

In 2010 the Red Bull Factory Racing team gave KTM their best ever MX World Championship season with titles in MX1, MX2 and WMX. That looks like a hard act to follow but all indications are that this team of top talented riders is "Ready to Race" and read to deliver a stunning line-up of results in 2011.

Any KTM factory rider is quick to point out that riding for this racing stable means being much more than a team member; it is a true family affair. That is why an essential part of the pre-season preparation was the joint training session at Benicasim in Spain at the MX training facility owned and run by team boss Stefan Everts and his father Harry, both multiple MX champions. This was an occasion for the entire KTM offroad factory contingent to get together when KTM's Enduro riders joined Tony Cairoli, Max Nagl, Jeffrey Herlings, Jeremy van Horebeek, Stefan Everts, Pit Beirer, head of the KTM Racing Department and selected media representatives. Ken Roczen, the final member of the factory squad has been competing in the AMA SX West Lites series with the US Red Bull KTM Factory Team and rejoins the team in time for the first GP in Bulgaria.

Round 12 of Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series, an FIM World Championship, is set to get underway Saturday in Toronto. Last weekend's race in Jacksonville was run under not just a full moon, but a "super" moon. It was closest the moon had been to the earth in nearly 20 years.

And the night's activities on the track showed it! The top two in the series point standings at the start of the day had disastrous nights! Series points leader Ryan Villopoto didn't even qualify for the Main Event, because of two crashes in the LCQ. And number two in points at the time, James Stewart's Main Event lasted about 10 seconds until a crash, of which he did not re-enter the race.

That left the door wide open for other title contenders to put themselves in a prime position.

The 250 East Supercross Lites class was not exempt from the lunacy either. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Blake Baggett, who stood second in points behind GEICO Honda's Justin Barcia, failed to qualify for the East Main Event. What a season 2011 has been! After all the excitement to this point, what more can we possibly expect in Toronto?

Here are a few things I see going down at Saturday's Supercross:

Anaheim has came and passed once again. It is great to finally have some racing back on and each class looks to be very tight, if everyone stays healthy. Something that caught my attention was that some of the riders were commenting that the track was a little difficult to pass on. Yet, James Stewart [...]

Supercross News: James Stewart injury update

Team San Manuel Yamaha Red Bull’s James Stewart had a disappointing night in Jacksonville on Saturday when a crash with several other riders, after the first turn on the track, took him out of the race. Starting out the day posting the fastest lap times and dominating his heat race, Stewart looked confident and ready to go. Stewart came out strong in the Main, getting a good start through the first turn, when there was an unexpected pileup leading into the first straightaway, resulting in a race ending crash. Though the Asterisk medical crew assisted him off of the track, further evaluation showed no signs of serious injury. Banged up and bruised, Stewart will spend the week recovering and preparing to race Toronto. “I was really hoping to pull this one out,” Stewart said. “It was my home state, I’m familiar with the tracks, all my fans were there cheering me on and it’s just really disappointing for me, my team, my sponsors and my fans. It’s all about Toronto and the rest of the season now.”

When Steffi Laier, Red Bull Teka KTM factory rider and two-time Women's MX World Champion takes to the track in the pre-season MX races in Valence, France, this weekend it will be her first competitive ride for 2011. MX Adventures: Leaving the West Coast ... talking with Kevin Windham

{jvideo id=259 height=378 width=660 autoPlay=0}
